This fabulous tunic was worn in the movie 'ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN MARVEL' (1941). These are extremely rare and very collectable due to the movie and the age. This magnificent Tunic is done in a beautiful red wool or wool blend and is fully lined in a soft brushed cotton. The tunic fastens down the center front to the waist with hooks and eyes. Below the waist, the tunic has a wrap from right to left that fastens horizontally to the left waist then down the left side front with hooks and eyes. The coat has a gold bullion ribbon trim down the center front, hem edge and lower sides along with diamond shaped trim at the cuffs. The tunic, which was re-used more than once which is very common, has had the collar added instead of the trim around the neckline and a piece of the trim at the waist removed from the wrap. There is some wear to each piece of this outfit - please remember it is almost 70 years old! Back in the US, Billy Batson, as Captain Marvel, wages a battle against an evil, hooded figure, the Scorpion, who hopes to accumulate all five lenses, thereby gaining control of the super-powerful weapon.
